NNL 690: Boundary Lubricant for Engines
General Description The primary benefit of NNL 690 is friction reduction at the boundary lubrication regime (metal to metal contact). This includes the ring zone, turbocharger and camshaft lobe areas in engines, and the pump, cylinder rods and valves in hydraulics. Secondary Benefits of NNL 690:
Product Application and Availability: NNL 690 is intended for use in internal combustion engine crankcases at 3% of the oil volume, each time the oil is changed. It is also suitable for use in automatic transmissions at an application rate of 1%, in power shift transmissions at 3%, and in circulating systems at 3% or 5%, depending on the severity of service. NNL 690 is compatible with mineral based and synthetic oils based on polyalphaolefins and diesters. At recommended application rates, it will not affect engine oil viscosity ratings or typical engine seal materials. NNL 690 is available in 1L bottles, 5L and 10L jugs, 20L pails and 205L drums. Customer Comments: Sanderson Farms runs a 6 cylinder Ford diesel generator, used to unload potatoes to the cellar for storage. "One day it had on oil line break. We don't know how long it ran for before we noticed the problem, but the oil - all 9 gallons (34Litres) of it - had completely soaked into the ground. Amazingly enough, the motor was still running and felt cool to the touch. Wanting to know for sure it was OK, we pulled the pan. We were surprised to find no metal shavings. In fact, there was no damage to the crank or anywhere else. The only repair made to this motor was the oil line and, to this day, it has not used a drop of oil and is still running with the same compression it always had. Power Up saved us $8000!" |
