In July 2007, we began a 'condition' maintenance program for servicing our Automated Side Loaders, Roll-Off Trucks and Yard Tugs. Instead of a maintenance program of routinely changing oil, we began an oil analysis program on both our engines and hydraulic systems. We conducted a six month test of the program. The results were impressive! We began installing the KleenOil Onboard Oil Recycling System on all
the equipment.
As of June 2009, the entire heavy equipment fleet, in all departments of the City of Artesia, utilizes the KleenOil system.
Our engine and hydraulic servicing is now based on fluid analysis only. Our drain intervals have been reduced as well as our downtime. It has freed our mechanics to be mechanics rather than lube techs.
Our savings in fluids, filters and time is about $700 per year per truck.
One of the PowerUp products, Thixogrease has proven to save pins and rollers meaning less downtime and part replacement.
Artesia's budget gets tighter every year. The immediate oil savings are great but, it is nice to know we will get an additional year or two of good service life from our expensive trucks.

To Whom It May Concern:Llano Utility is developing a new preventative maintenance program to reduce downtime and lower costly repairs. A major part of the program involves the installation of the Kleenoil Bypass Filtration System to our engines and hydraulic units.
To date, we have installed 65 systems on the engines of our excavators, trenchers, backhoes and boring machines. Kleenoil has helped to cut our oil costs by extend ing our oil drains from 250 hours to 750 hours. Instead of changing our oil and spin on filter, we now change the Kleenoil filter cartridge at 250 hours and 500 hours. We then change the oil and both filters at 750 hours. We have been taking oil analysis at the 250 and 500 hour levels and are seeing exceptionally clean results.
During this oil sampling process, we found one engine that was high in Diesel Fuel content. We examined the engine and made a t imely repair saving as much as $15,000.
Our future plans include installing the Kleenoil Systems on the rest of our engines and on all of our Hydraulic systems. We may also install and use themto filter our fuel systems.
We believe that Kleenoil provides several benefits which include lower oil costs, reduced repairs, and in the long run, will help achieve higher resale values on our equipment.
